WUAG & CareySound Presents:
Joanna Newsom
Saturday, November 18th
The Gail Brower Huggins Performance Center @ Greensboro College
Doors Open @ 7pm
Show will begin @ 8pm
Tickets are $12
Joanna Newsom should need no intrduction. She took the world by storm in 2004 for her award winning album "The Milk-Eyed Mender". Her childlike voice and angelic harp playing is unlike anything out there today. Her new album "Ys" will be released on November 14th and will feature a full orchestrated band. This performance will feature a 7 person orchestra and should be an intimate night of gorgeous music. The opening act will be classical guitarist Sir Richard Bishop!
Also Performing Tonight will be the CareySound Cobra System with John at the helm. Make sure you stop and say hi (and don't forget to tip the soundman).
Smaarter Now
Today was master class day at CareySound. We covered the difference in various audio measurement tools, their usefulness, their limitations, their application to live audio and Smaart Live software basics. We are planning a series of audio classes in the following months and we would love to get an idea of how much interest there would be for such a series and what topics and at what experience level they should be. PLEASE contact us and let us know if you are interested.

I know its been 30 years with the city but it's over now Lynn and the retirement party is in a couple of weeks. Lynn Donovan has served Greensboro's citizens with distinction as the Music Center Director and now is the time to personally thank her for all of her dedication and hard work.

iPod Food
The Apple iPod has defined how a new generation listens to music and it would be hard to find a sound guy without one in his personal gig bag. If you don't already own one, CareySound is giving you the perfect excuse to go out and buy one.
We have been using them for the last couple of years as a valuable audio diagnostic tool. We developed the set of audio files that we call Check One Two that we are now making available for free download in our Tech Downloads section. Enjoy!
Breakfast At Tiffiny's?
Nope. Load-out at Homestead.
What, lamb chops and trout weren't on the menu at load-out on your gig? Our clients this week at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA know who the real stars of every successful event really are. Our thanks to Eric from Communicate for their wonderful hospitality.
