Memory Lane

Barbara Weathers called me the other day about a
possible date in the near future and I thought I
might share this picture of her performing at a
cabaret in the civic center in Roanoke, VA sometime
in the early 80’s. She was still in high school at
the time as were most of the other members of the
band Covacus which was lead by Aggie Alum James
“Coffee” Yourse. It was taken by our head SoundMan
at the time, Mike Armeniox. Thanks for taking a
camera along Mike.
Barbara went on to star with R&B legends Atlantic Starr before moving on to a solo carrier in 1990 . I am honored to have been a SoundMan and friend of such an amazing talent. A genuine artist that takes you breath away when she is on stage. And was a great baby sitter for my sons. Thanks for the call Barbara.
